  • Esta obra, pensada y escrita en los meses más álgidos de la pandemia por el virus SARS-CoV-2, surgió por una iniciativa del Seminario de la RED México de Estudios del Discurso, a la cual se sumaron estudiantes de la línea de An-tropología Semiótica del Doctorado en Antropología del ciesas, Ciudad de México. Su objetivo es reflexionar cómo la sociedad, el lenguaje y sus sentidos se reconfiguraron como consecuencia de la emergencia sanitaria. Se abor-dan temas como las transformaciones semióticas desplegadas como pri-mera estrategia para preservar la salud y la vida; la cobertura de la contin-gencia por parte de la prensa impresa; los retos para la educación en confinamiento en contextos de diversidad cultural; las movilizaciones digita les feministas y el papel liberador del arte en contra de la violencia de género exacerbada por el aislamiento forzoso, no sólo en México, sino tam-bién en otros países de América Latina, como Argentina, Chile, Cuba, Nicaragua, Perú. A dos años del inolvidable 2020, estas páginas nos invitan a seguir re-flexionando, desde perspectivas interdisciplinarias, multifactoriales, com-plejas y multiescalares, cómo la pandemia y sus discursos se convirtieron en un inusitado mirador para pensar en la vieja normalidad desde la nueva normalidad.
